Routing Templates
A Routing Template belongs to Alarm Definitions workflow for a particular tenant.
It contains a destinations routing list, specifying agents responsible for alarm confirmation.
A routing template is a preset configuration that defines how the system handles specific alarm events. It automates the response process by specifying actions, destinations, and severity levels, ensuring that alarms are handled consistently and efficiently.
An alarm routing template functions by pre-defining the logic for how an alarm is “routed” through the system. Instead of manually configuring the response for each individual alarm trigger, an administrator can apply a template to a group of similar alarms. This streamlines the security management process, especially in large, complex environments.
At least one agent has to be added to the routing list. For each agent in the list a corresponding Time Period and ‘Routing Level’ properties have to be assigned.
Periods ‘Any Time’ or ‘Never’ are always available, custom time periods may be defined as well. ‘Routing Level’ property has to be set to either Primary or Secondary.
‘Routing Level’ serves as an escalation path - sets a specific path for alarm escalation if the initial alarm goes unacknowledged. If an operator does not respond within a defined timeframe, the system can automatically re-route the alarm to the next level of management. In such a case the new alarm will be triggered displaying the following message System: Primary alarm ack time has expired, sending to secondary routing locations.
In case agent’s e-mail is provided and SMTP Server is properly configured, a notification e-mail will be forwarded to the agent.
